This summer, the Social Practice Team from the School of Software Engineering traveled to Panzhihua City to carry out a social practice activity themed "Inheriting Excellent Culture and Fulfilling Mission and Responsibility."

The faculty and students visited Xingshan Village, a Lisu ethnic township in Miyi County, Panzhihua City, the Lisu Ancestral Home Museum, and the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group. They gained an in-depth understanding of the rich intangible cultural heritage of the Lisu people, such as the craft of fireweed weaving, and explored the smart, automated steelmaking process, experiencing the spirit of craftsmanship at a national level.

The group also visited the China Third Front Construction Museum located in Panzhihua City, where they were inspired by the "Third Front Spirit" of hard work, selfless dedication, teamwork, and innovation.

During the activity, the team led children from Xinmin Road Community to the Guaziping Street Comprehensive Elderly Care Center to participate in the "Big Hands Hold Little Hands, United in Respecting the Elderly" volunteer service activity. They interacted with the elderly, performed for them, and filled the nursing home with laughter from the children. In the end, the children presented handmade gifts to the elderly as a token of their love and care.
